August Construction and Quilting

I am having great fun with my August piece. I noticed this month that I have found a very comfortable rhythm in the construction process, with much less angst, just flowing through all the decisions. Even when I mistakenly measured the left margin and cut it too far in by mistake, I didn't freak out! I just thought, oh well, this leaf apparently is not going to be centered!
Here is the thread audition - I like to use lots of different threads in quilting, and these are my favorite Sulky varigated threads that I used this month. The dark outlined the leaf, the light thread was for the leaf veins, and the green was for the background quilting. On the left is a photo of my sewing machine while I was quilting the veins. You can see my computer printout of my fabric, on which I have sketched some possible quilting lines, and the leaf that is the focus of August. I am trying to copy the major veins in my quilting as accurately as possible. On the right is a photo trying to show the quilting. You can maybe see that it is a little wavy on the bottom, but it's much better than it was about half way through the quilting.
Now I am starting my next favorite part of the process...all the construction decisions have been made, the quilting is finished, and now it's all about the beading!
