Glorious BJP Day

Today I enjoyed a glorious BJP day! No kids, no housework, no errands, no work...just me and the BJP. Because I am so far behind in my monthly finishes, I was feeling quite overwhelmed. As with all things that are overwhelming to me, I tried to break down my tasks into manageable pieces. I got all my background pieces chosen up to and including February, and got my ideas sketched/updated in my BJP sketchbook.
I decided that the first job that would make me feel much better was to finally finish August. I had been thinking about what it was that made me not like it, and decided it was the pointy corners of the tree line border. So I covered up the points with these great shells and some strings of beads sticking out. It was just an idea that came to me when I looked at my supplies and so I tried it. I was delighted by how I felt about it! After disliking this piece for so long, I now liked it!
I finished the four corners in record time.
For the edging I did a two colour beaded double loop which I also really liked, and am happy to finally pronounce this month done! I think I'll call it "The Mighty Oak".
It is a great feeling to have my first four pieces completely finished, and the next four in various stages of completion.

The corners really make this well-named piece. I love oaks too! Robin A.
