Working on the border

I have been stalled on the August piece because I had an idea I wanted to pursue, but wasn't sure how to execute. And sorting out the "how to's" needed a chunk of time that didn't exist in my calendar! I wanted to make a border outline of pine trees to symbolize the forests we spent so much time exploring in August. I made a pattern from freezer paper using the "paper dolls" technique. It was a pain to get it the right size and to get the corners to work out. After much fussing around, it finally came together. I ironed the freezer paper pattern in place, traced around the edge and then removed the pattern. Then...finally I got to a fun part...sorting through the bead box looking for the right beads for the tree line.
A while ago I had purchased these terrific beads at Beads of Colour that are a wonderful deep green and are a triangular shape...perfect for the trees! They also had bugle beads that matched in colour, and I'm not sure if I will use those, but I got them out anyway. I am so relieved to be over that design challenge and back to what I enjoy!
Yippee...beading again!
