with getting the kids back to school and working too many hours. But I did finish fortifying the centre vein of the leaf. At first I wondered "why did I waste those beautiful beads that I sewed along the centre vein, since I just went and covered them up"? But now I enjoy thinking about the hidden treasure that I know is there! And I like the effect of the beads protecting the beautiful centre! I used size 11 green beads that I really love (I won't tell you how much I paid for a tube of them!) I don't usually count the number of beads I use, and am not usually curious about that, but I was this time, so I did count. I made 42 curl-
overs on the stem, with 7 beads per curl, so I used 294 beads. Here is a close up photo of the centre beading. Just like the edging bead stitch which I really enjoyed, this centre beading was fun, fun, fun!Now I am thinking about using a tree design around the outside, which I saw on the edge of hats that were sold at a very remote store when we were on vacation in August. I am not sure about beading the spider web that I quilted on the background yet. And I am thinking about putting a backing on this piece and stitching more veins with embroidery floss.
I am ignoring that it is September already!

Hi Kathy, I really like your descriptions of your process for your August piece. So many decisions to make! I love what you say about the treasure inside your center vein.
I love the center vein on your leaf.
