September finally finished

I have decided that I am finished with September's BJP. I think it is a very weird looking thing and the look on the faces of my family when I showed it to them confirmed my suspicions! However, it does feel to me like I wanted it to be. It reminds me of the rock formations that we saw in Northern Ontario, and it is also connected to the photos of Jupiter in this post. I am calling it "Layers of Jupiter and Earth".
This is the first BJP month that I have finished entirely. I wasn't sure how I wanted to finish the monthly pieces and so the first ones are still just beading on a piece of fabric and batting. I decided I would add a backing, do some hand stitching to hold the layers together and bead the edges (instead of a binding, which I had previously thought I would do).
Now I can move on to working on the next months (Oct. Nov. and Dec.) and can go back to finish the beaded months (June, July, and August).

Kathy, I do not find it "weird-looking" at all! It is beautiful! Did you dye the fabric yourself? I just love the quilting, the mood, the beads you used, the "moon" bead and the way the lines move. Very impressive, very unique!

I love the colours of this, it is so my colours!

If you feel it is the way you want then you are done - don't worry about the family faces. I get those looks all the time! The important thing is that you feel it is saying what you want it to say. I think it is beautiful.

It's really quite beautiful. It does remind me of rock formation but also of hazy sunsets. I really like it a lot.

Kathy, I like all of your work, but this one really talks to me. I can see all the strata. As for the family, mine frequently think I'm strange for doing some of the things I do, but I figure it's their loss. Keep doing what you're doing.
