I took a bunch of scraps which were trimmed from a fabric vessel I have been making - you can see the vessel panels in progress here. I just started playing around with the wierd pieces and they became flowers or fireworks or ?? (I think they are probably flowers because I become sort of obsessed with flowers in June. After the long, stark winter I look for any bits of emerging colour in the growing flowers around the neighbourhood and am delighted as each flower blooms.)When I had a design that filled most of the page and that was okay, I covered it with a piece of Solvy and free motion quilted the
edge of each scrap. This is something I love to do - I find the process meditative and relaxing (when the tension works well and the sewing machine co-operates...and it did!)Then I put the whole thing in a bucket of water and the Solvy dissolved
. Here is how it looked when it dried out.Now the other fun part starts...auditioning beads from the bead box. I used a process similar to selecting the fabric. I allowed myself 15 minutes to look through the beads and pull out ones that seemed to go with the colours and beads I liked or hadn't noticed for a while and wanted to look at them again! Then I just started. I refused to let myself run around the house looking for the new beads I bought last week...where are they?!?! I started without them...hope they show up sooner, rather than later!
